Keys to a healthy smile

  • Plaque is constantly being formed on children's teeth.  Once plaque is combined with sugars from food and drinks, plaque produces acids that irritate teeth.  These attacks can lead to quite a bit of tooth decay.
  • For good oral health be sure your child consumes a balanced diet with foods from the important food groups
  • The most important part of keeping your child's healthy smile consistent is making sure they are brushing their teeth twice a day.  Another factor into keeping that smile healthy is flossing once a day.

  • Flossing is important because it removes plaque from in between your teeth that toothbrushes cannot reach.
  • Children can begin flossing on a regular basis when the primary teeth are in contact. This is usually around the age of four.
